Regional Passport Office, Patna Hosts First-Ever Children’s Hindi Literature Event ‘Suno-Sunao’ on World Hindi Day

For the first time, the Regional Passport Office, Patna, organized a Hindi literature program, "Suno-Sunao," for children, as part of the quarterly Hindi workshop on the auspicious occasion of World Hindi Day and World Youth Day, today, January 12, 2026. The newly constructed childcare room, "Vatsalya," was also inaugurated on this significant occasion. The program was organized under the guidance of Regional Passport Officer, Mrs. Swadha Rizvi, in the presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Anurag Joshi, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India.

"Suno-Sunao," a program focused on the global promotion of the Hindi language, was presented by children from Kilkari, Bal Bhavan, Patna (Education Department), the cultural organization Prerna, and the Regional Passport Office family. It was directed by senior artists Shrikant and Sunil from Batras, Patna. Batras, Patna, also presented a live reading of Premchand's timeless work, "Idgah." The children's presentation of works by prominent Hindi poets enthralled literature lovers, with excerpts from "Rashmi Rathi" by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar playing a key role. Poetry, antakshari, puzzles, and other programs were also part of the event. This event thoroughly introduced the audience to the vast and invaluable heritage of Hindi and paved the way for its further development.

Through his address, the chief guest highlighted the importance of the widespread use of Hindi in personal life, including the office, and offered valuable suggestions for strengthening it globally. The Regional Passport Officer provided detailed instructions to officers and employees for the increased use of Hindi in the office. He thanked the State Bank of India for the creation of Vatsalya and stated that the childcare room would be beneficial for families and applicants with children. At the conclusion of the program, the office presented all the children with the book "Exam Warrior," written by the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, with the aim of relieving children and youth from exam stress. The program was conducted by the office's Senior Superintendent, Shri Shambhu Sharan, and the vote of thanks was given by Hindi Officer, Shri Sajjan Kumar.
