Rohit Sharma Glares at Brother After Seeing Damaged Car: ‘Ye kya hai?’

Friday turned out to be a memorable and emotional day for Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma, as he was honoured in a special ceremony at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. The naming of the Divecha Level 3 stand in his honour by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), where he was surrounded by his parents, wife Ritika Sajdeh, and close friends, Rohit witnessed a major milestone in his career.

The tribute was a proud moment for the star batter, who reflected on its significance:

"It’ll be a surreal feeling on the 21st when I return here to play against Delhi Capitals for Mumbai Indians. Having a stand named after me is truly special — and it’ll mean even more when I represent the country again at this venue."

While the evening was filled with heartfelt moments, there was also a dose of humour. A light, relatable exchange between Rohit and his brother Vishal Sharma was captured on video as the family prepared to leave the stadium. Spotting a scratch on their car, Rohit turned to his brother and asked, “Ye kya hai?”

Vishal admitted sheepishly, “It got hit in reverse,” and when asked who did it, he confessed it was his fault — earning a long, dramatic death stare from Rohit. The tension didn’t last, though, as the brothers soon broke into smiles and laughter. Capping off the evening with another tender family moment and Rohit helping his father into the car.

Beyond the celebrations, Rohit’s attention now turns back to the field. With only two league matches left — against Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings — Mumbai Indians are fighting to stay in contention for the IPL playoffs. The Wankhede, now bearing his name in the stands, will be the stage for what could be a defining match in their campaign.
