SIT likely to file chargesheet in Zubeen Garg death case by December 10, says Assam CM

The SIT of Assam police probing the death of Zubeen Garg is likely to file the chargesheet before December 10.

"By December 10, the truth will be out before the people. The SIT, formed earlier this year to investigate Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death in Singapore, is in the final phase of examining forensic and circumstantial evidence," said Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today.

He said that the probe into the death of singer Zubeen Garg is on the right track and asserted that the late icon will get 100 percent justice.

"If I take up something, I make sure it reaches the logical end. The investigation is going on a good direction. We have explosive evidence. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the Assam Police are working tirelessly to ensure that justice is delivered in the case," he said.

“We are planning to present the facts before the people by December 10. While December 17 is the final deadline, I am confident we will be ready by the 10th itself. Some people may be surprised, some may feel hurt and some may even be angry when they learn what really happened to Zubeen," he said.

The Assam chief minister also slammed the Congress and Raijor Dal party for politicising the death of Zubeen Garg.

He said that these two parties have been bringing people to Zubeen's cremation site who were never fans of Garg thereby preventing genuine admirers from paying their respect.

He said that some sections from the miya community are disturbing peace at singer Zubeen Garg's cremation site. Some sections from the miya community have also acted in ways that disturbed peace at the cremation site.

" If you see Zubeen’s interviews, you’ll understand how deeply hurt he was over the growing infiltration in Assam," he said adding that the Congress is using Zubeen’s name for political gain while the BJP have been working hard to ensure justice for Zubeen.
