Sonia Gandhi Hospitalized in Shimla, Condition Stable

Senior Congress leader and former party president Sonia Gandhi was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Hospital in Shimla on Saturday after she reported feeling unwell.
Gandhi, who is currently in Shimla on a private visit, is staying at the family's residence in Chharabra. She is expected to return to Delhi on Sunday, June 7.
Hospital sources said she was experiencing restlessness, prompting a visit to the hospital for a medical check-up. A team of specialists conducted a thorough examination. According to a senior doctor at IGMC, Gandhi’s blood pressure was found to be slightly elevated, but her condition is stable.
“She is stable and was brought in for a routine check-up due to some minor health concerns. Doctors are examining her,” said Naresh Chauhan, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Himachal Pradesh chief minister.
While the hospital has not issued an official statement, security around IGMC has been increased. Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil and Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena visited the hospital, and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu cut short his visit to Una and returned to Shimla.
The Gandhi family frequently visits Chharabra during the summer, where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra owns a private home.
