Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Unveils Ambitious ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ Vision at Global Summit

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday outlined an ambitious roadmap for Telangana’s future while addressing the Telangana Rising Global Summit at Bharat Future City, declaring that the state is poised to become one of India’s most advanced and globally competitive regions.

The Chief Minister began his address by recalling India’s historic tryst with destiny in 1947, when the nation’s founding fathers drafted a Constitution rooted in sovereignty, democracy, socialism and secularism. He said the same spirit of deliberation, debate and nation-building now guides Telangana as it charts its long-term development path.

Revanth Reddy said Telangana draws inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar, and from the decades-long struggle that led to the formation of the state in 2014 under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. He noted that Telangana, India’s youngest state, is now determined to become the country’s most developed and among the finest in the world.

Explaining the origins of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, he said the government consulted citizens, experts, academics, NITI Aayog and the Indian School of Business to define what the state could achieve by the time India celebrates 100 years of Independence. “This vision is not only ours—this is the collective dream of the people of Telangana,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the presence of leaders from business, policy, government, diplomacy and academia at the Global Summit signalled strong support for the state’s ambitious future. He emphasised that Telangana offers immense opportunities, and shared the state’s goals of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047. Although Telangana accounts for just 2.9 per cent of India’s population, it contributes nearly 5 per cent to the national GDP. “By 2047, I want Telangana to contribute 10 per cent of India’s GDP,” he declared.

Outlining the state’s development strategy, Revanth Reddy said Telangana aims to be the first state in India to be organised into three distinct economic zones—services, manufacturing and agriculture—under the CURE, PURE and RARE model. The Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) will be centred in Hyderabad, the Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE) in emerging corridors such as Future City, and the Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE) across the state’s farming belts.

He cited the example of China’s Guangdong province—one of the world’s most successful economic models—and said Telangana seeks to replicate such rapid growth by drawing lessons from China, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Singapore. “We are ready to compete with them, and we invite them to collaborate with us,” he said.

Describing the vision as challenging but achievable, the Chief Minister said he encourages his team to embrace difficult goals. “If it is difficult, let us do it immediately. If you think it is impossible, I will give you more time as the (extended) deadline,” he remarked.

Expressing confidence in the support of global partners attending the summit, Revanth Reddy said the Telangana Rising movement is “unstoppable” and called upon investors and stakeholders to join the state in shaping a new future. “Come, join the rise,” he added.

Earlier, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the Global Summit 2025. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, union Minister Kishan Reddy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Nobel Peace laureate Kailash Satyarthi, DGP Shivdhar Reddy, and several national and international dignitaries were present.
