Telangana Now a ‘National Role Model’ in Development and Welfare, Says Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy

Telangana has emerged as a model for the entire country in both development and welfare under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, said State Revenue, Housing, Information and Civil Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he said the government has kept every promise made during the elections while giving equal priority to progress and public welfare without neglecting any section of the society.
Reddy said the overwhelming public approval for the government’s two-year rule is reflected in the results of the Cantonment by-election and the Jubilee Hills by-election. As the government enters its third year in office, he said the achievements already made in just two years are remarkable, especially considering the financial crisis inherited from the previous administration.
“They bankrupted a rich state in ten years. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, we have put Telangana back on the path of development as a welfare state,” he said.
He said the Congress government had inherited chaotic administrative conditions but has since restored democratic governance. Development and welfare schemes that were once unimaginable have now been successfully designed and implemented.
He highlighted initiatives such as 'Sanna Biyyam' and 'Indira Indlu', describing them as programs that have become guiding models for the rest of the country. “Without sidelining any sector or leaving any group behind, the chariot of progress is moving on the twin wheels of development and welfare,” he said.
The Minister explained that the government began implementing the six guarantees immediately after taking office. Four have been fully implemented, while the remaining two have been partially rolled out due to financial constraints.
He said the government remains committed to fulfilling them. Beyond these guarantees, he pointed out that several welfare schemes not mentioned during the elections have also been launched in the last two years.
Reddy said that Telangana is making rapid progress in both agriculture and industry, and has now become the leading state in economic growth. He said the government is moving ahead with the ‘Telangana Rising – 2047 Vision’ to position the state as a national and global leader. The goal, he noted, is to transform the state’s economy into a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2035, and a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047.
He said the government is following a two-pronged strategy — setting development targets that can compete with major global cities while ensuring welfare benefits reach the poorest sections.
“In just two years, we have established Telangana as a role model for the nation by rewriting the standards of transparency, modern governance and inclusive development,” he said.
The Minister added that the government has introduced major reforms in the revenue, housing and land survey departments over the last two years. The immediate priority going forward, he said, is to reduce land-related disputes across the state and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive Indiramma houses at the earliest. Steps taken toward these goals, he said, are already showing successful results.
