Transgender Community Raises ₹30 Lakh for Punjab Flood Victims at Agra Meet

In a heartwarming display of compassion and solidarity, the transgender community has come forward to help the flood-affected people of Punjab.
During the ongoing All India Transgender Community Conference being held at a garden on Fatehabad Road in Agra, members of the community raised Rs 30 lakh in donations for the victims.
The conference, which will continue until September 15, has drawn nearly 10,000 transgenders from across the country. Contributions were collected through traditional community bidding, where members openly pledged donations, some contributing Rs 50,000 and others even Rs 1 lakh. The highest amount came from the Gorakhpur contingent.
As part of the initiative, the community also held a Ganesh puja, praying for the well-being of flood victims and farmers in Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Guru Mata Sadhna from Haryana said, "This is not charity; it's about passing on the blessings we receive from society to those who need them most. If needed, we'll raise even more."
The leaders (Panchs) of the All India Transgender Community made it clear that the funds will not be handed over to any political leaders or government officials, to avoid any misuse. Instead, the aid will be distributed directly to victims through trusted individuals within the community.
