Union Cabinet Approves Pune Metro Phase 2 with 12.75 km Line, 13 Stations

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol said here today that the ongoing pursuit for the metro expansion of Pune city has been successful, and the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendraji Modi has approved the second phase of the Pune Metro project.
"For this, I thank Prime Minister and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on behalf of all Punekars," he said.
Addressing a press conference, Mohol said the approved 12.75 km long metro line will have 13 stations, connecting important areas like Bavdhan, Kothrud, Kharadi, Wagholi to the metro.
"This project will provide a safe, fast and eco-friendly alternative to the daily commute of lakhs of people from IT hubs, educational institutions, residential and commercial areas," the Minister said. "This is a historic decision that will strengthen the transportation system of Pune," he added.
