UP Tourism Minister launches 360° virtual tour of Mathura Museum

Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh today inaugurated the upgraded auditorium at the State Museum here and launched the 360-degree virtual tour of the Government Museum, Mathura. With this initiative, people will now be able to explore rare manuscripts, sculptures, and artefacts preserved in the Mathura Museum from the comfort of their homes, through just one click.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the ancient treasures preserved in these museums are not just heritage but also valuable knowledge for future generations.

“The manuscripts, relics, and artefacts stored in our museums are part of our civilizational wealth. By preserving and digitising them, we are not only strengthening research but also passing them on to the next generation,” he said.

He directed officials to make extensive use of modern technology to conserve heritage and to expand outreach so that school children, researchers, and the public can all benefit from it.

The Minister further instructed that school children from Lucknow and other districts should be regularly taken on museum tours so that they understand the importance of preserved heritage.

“Our youth are the architects of a developed India. Museums must not only preserve history but also inspire children to become scientists, doctors, engineers, historians, and builders of a developed Bharat in 2047,” he added.

Tourism Advisor J P Singh said with the launch of this initiative, any visitor can now take a virtual walk through the galleries of Mathura Museum. “History enthusiasts, researchers, and students can now experience the exhibits digitally from anywhere,” he said.

On the occasion, children from various schools who participated in competitions organised by the museum were awarded certificates by the Minister. Winners included Aashi, Humbiya Ansari, Riddhima Soni, Kartik, Zoya, and several others who excelled in activities like speech, singing, painting, fancy dress, and rangoli. These competitions were held in schools across Lucknow, including Primary School Amani Ganj, Higher Secondary School, and Government Girls Inter College, Malihabad
