Uttarakhand Makes History, First State to Pass Uniform Civil Code Bill

In a landmark move, the Uttarakhand assembly unanimously passed the controversial Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill on Wednesday. This legislation paves the way for a single set of laws governing personal matters like marriage, inheritance, and divorce for all citizens, irrespective of their religion.
