Varanasi Republic Day Parade to Be Led Entirely by Women Police Personnel

Varanasi is set to celebrate Republic Day with a strong emphasis on women’s empowerment, as the January 26 parade will be led entirely by women police personnel.

Around 400 women, including constables, sub-inspectors, commandos, and trainee IPS officers, will participate in the parade. Trainee IPS officer Mansi Dahiya will serve as the First in Command, leading the march past.

“I am proud to be a trainee woman officer and to lead the Varanasi Police on Republic Day,” Dahiya said. “I am joined by approximately 400 female colleagues. This year’s parade will be an inspiration for women across the country.”

The parade will feature female constables, Black Commandos, female mounted contingents, and trainee IPS officers in key command roles, sending a strong message of women’s empowerment nationwide.

Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal said the event highlights the growing role of women in policing and demonstrates that women are capable of taking on any responsibility with confidence and competence.

Assistant Police Commissioner (Line) Dr. Ishan Soni added that the parade will include 16 contingents of women personnel, including 10 contingents of trainee officers, one of commandos, one of traffic police, and four from various district police stations. Women will also hold key positions in the mounted parade, including the First, Second, and Third Commands.

To boost morale, the film Border-2 will be screened for the participating female officers ahead of the parade.
