How To Participate: Registration & Platform

WCCC 2025 is organized through ACAD Global—a daily international crossword challenge run by Extra-C at www.crypticsingh.com.ACAD Global is the year-round training ground for crossword solvers—offering a daily cryptic clue at 12:30 GMT, global leaderboards, and an engaging platform to sharpen skills in preparation for WCCC.

No separate registration required for WCCC. Free registration via ACAD Global is mandatory for all participants (both individual and team championships). After registering, participants will receive login credentials to access WCCC events.

Day 1 – WCCC Individual Championship (Online – World Title)

The World Cryptic Crossword Championship (WCCC) 2025 will open with the much-anticipated Individual Championship, an online event where the sharpest minds from across the globe will compete for the coveted title of World Champion. Scheduled for June 28, 2025, the competition will run from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM GMT, and will be hosted on the championship’s official platform, www.crypticsingh.com.

Day 2 – WCCC Team Championship (In-Person – London)

The second day of WCCC 2025 will see the spotlight shift to London for the prestigious Team Championship, an in-person contest that will bring together some of the finest cruciverbalists worldwide. The event is scheduled for June 29, 2025 in London. Participation in the Team Championship will include two categories of contestants: Country Representatives—top solvers specially invited by the organizers based on their past performances in national and international competitions—and Challenger Participants, an open category welcoming all crossword enthusiasts who hold a valid ID and have registered for ACAD Global.
