In an inspiring address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled an ambitious roadmap for India's space sector, declaring that the day is not far when an Indian will land on the Moon in an indigenously built spacecraft. Speaking at an event in Sahibabad, he highlighted India's remarkable progress in space exploration and its vision for the future.
The Prime Minister announced that India's Gaganyaan mission is on the horizon, set to ferry Indian astronauts to space. Additionally, India is gearing up to establish its very own space station, marking a significant leap in the country's space capabilities.
"We have drawn a strong roadmap till 2040 for the space sector... that day is not far when we will land an Indian on the Moon on our own spacecraft," Modi stated with determination. He proudly reminisced about India's recent achievement when Chandrayaan-3 placed the nation's tricolour on the lunar surface, leaving the world in awe.
India's prowess in the 21st century extends beyond the Moon, with Modi emphasizing the nation's global significance. Hosting the G20 Summit, India has become a center of attraction and curiosity worldwide, offering new opportunities for connection and development. The country is making strides in areas like sports, technology, and infrastructure, boasting achievements such as winning over 100 medals in the Asian Games, launching 5G connectivity nationwide, and leading digital transactions globally.
Prime Minister Modi also set ambitious goals for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), challenging engineers and scientists to work towards establishing an Indian Space Station by 2035 and sending an Indian astronaut to the lunar surface by 2040. He encouraged exploring interplanetary missions, including a Venus orbiter and a potential Mars landing.
Furthermore, Modi highlighted the government's commitment to the well-being of its citizens, announcing festival gifts that include a reduction of Rs 500 in the gas cylinder price for Ujjwala beneficiaries, free ration for over 80 crore citizens, a four percent dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners, and Diwali bonuses for lakhs of group B and C non-gazetted railway employees. These measures are aimed at promoting economic activities and benefitting the entire economy.
As he concluded his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that the festive joy in every family stems from these "sensitive decisions," and the happiness of every family in the country contributes to the festive mood. "You are my family, so you are my priority. This work is being done for you. If you are happy, I will be happy. If you are empowered, the country will emerge stronger," he said.
With this visionary roadmap, India's journey into the depths of space takes a giant leap forward, and the prospect of an Indian landing on the Moon becomes ever more promising.
