Kuwait Set To Import Cow Dung From India Amidst Row Over Prophet Remark

Even as fundamentalist forces try to hijack the narrative for the past couple of weeks under the garb of row over prophet remark, an amusing news has come to light. An Indian company is set to export cow dung to Kuwait, which was one of the first Muslim countries to register an official protest with the Indian envoy regarding Nupur Sharma's comments during a TV debate. In a first-of-its-kind deal between India and Kuwait, the Jaipur-based Sunrise Agriland and Development Research Pvt. Ltd has received an order from Kuwait-based company Lamor for 192 metric tonnes of "
indigenous cow dung
." Talking about the order, Sunrise's director, Prashant Chaturvedi, said that this would be the first time that cow dung would be exported to Kuwait. He also informed that the cow dung is currently being packed into containers, under the supervision of the Customs Department at the company's Sunrise Organic Park, located on Tonk Road, Jaipur. The main reason why several countries, including Kuwait, are interested in the Indian cow dung is the growing awareness about the benefits of organic farming and using organic manure to do so. After a detailed research conducted by the Kuwaiti agricultural scientists, it was found that using indigenous cow dung on the date crop led to increase in the size of the fruit and enhanced production. India is currently the largest cow dung exporter, with most of its shipments headed to the US, the Maldives and Malaysia. Kuwait, it seems, is set to be added to this list of importers.
