Ministry of Micro, Potential Entrepreneur Meet at CSIR-NBRI

Under CSIR-Floriculture Mission activities and as a part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR-NBRI), Lucknow hosted National MSME Expedition Meet 2021 and organized a "Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) - Potential Entrepreneur Meet" on 6th December 2021. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj. The one-day programme was organised to create awareness about MSME activities and its various schemes. The programme was attended by potential floriculture entrepreneurs and farmer clusters of CSIR Floriculture Mission from different parts of the country through virtual mode. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. S.K. Barik, Director, CSIR-NBRI and Mission Director of CSIR Floriculture Mission addressed the floriculture farmers and entrepreneurs to take benefits of the MSME schemes for enhancing/starting their business. Dr. S.V. Shukla, Director, FFDC, Kannauj, and an active partner of CSIR Floriculture Mission addressed the issues raised by the farmers and suggested technologies for development of various value-added products. The Directors of CSIR-IHBT and CSIR-IIIM also discussed various opportunities that the entrepreneurs can avail through different MSME schemes. The MSME team was led by Shri Harendra Pratap, Deputy Director (Publicity), who provided a brief about MSME activities and opportunities for floriculture sector. Dr. Harish Yadav, Assistant Editor, Laghu Udyog Samachar (a monthly bilingual of Ministry of MSME) presented details of different schemes under MSME that the floriculture farmers and entrepreneurs can apply. The entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra and other states (out of the 25 states/Union Territories, where CSIR Floriculture Mission is being implemented) interacted with the MSME officials and other experts present. The programme was also attended by Shri Amit Azad, the grandson of Chandrashekhar Azad, the great freedom fighter, who appealed to all the participants not to forget the supreme sacrifice of freedom fighters to earn the independence, and work tirelessly for our nation.
