PM Modi to Meet French President Macron in Mumbai Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai today. During the meeting, the two leaders will review progress made in the India-France Strategic Partnership and exchange views on issues of regional and global importance.
President Macron is on a three-day official visit to India beginning today at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi to participate in the AI Impact Summit.
This will be President Macron's fourth visit to India and his first visit to Mumbai. Their discussions will focus on cementing the strategic partnership and further diversifying it into new and emerging areas of cooperation.
In the evening, the two leaders will inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026. They will address a gathering of business leaders, start-ups, researchers, and other innovators from both countries.
The Year of Innovation initiative is expected to strengthen collaboration between Indian and French enterprises, research institutions, and technology start-ups across various sectors.
The bilateral meeting comes alongside the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where world leaders from over 20 nations are participating in discussions on artificial intelligence governance and cooperation.
France and India share a robust strategic partnership spanning defence, space, nuclear energy, and emerging technologies. The Mumbai meeting provides an opportunity to expand this partnership into new domains including AI, clean energy, and digital innovation.
