Australia cricket team created history on Saturday (22 February) at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It achieved the target of 352 runs given by England by losing 5 wickets. It scored 356/5 which is the highest team score in the history of the Champions Trophy to date. Australia also became the team to chase the highest runs in the Champions Trophy.

Australia- 356/5

Australia has now become the team to score the highest team score in the history of the Champions Trophy. Based on the brilliant innings of Matthew Short (63), Josh English (120), Alex Carey (69) and Glenn Maxwell (32), the team achieved the target of 352 runs in just 47.3 overs.

English gave victory to the Kangaroo team with a six and their score was 356/5. English also scored the first century of his ODI career.

England- 351/8

In the same match, England scored 351/8 while batting first. They are in second place on this list. Ben Duckett faced 143 balls and scored 165 runs. 17 fours and 3 sixes came off his bat. His strike rate was 115.38.

Apart from him, Joe Root scored 68 runs facing 78 balls. 4 fours came off his bat. Despite this big score, the England team lost the match.

New Zealand- 347/4

The New Zealand cricket team is in third place on the list. It scored 347/4 against the USA cricket team in the 2004 Champions Trophy. For the Kiwi team that came to bat first, Nathan Astle scored 145 runs facing 151 balls. 13 fours and 6 sixes came off his bat. Scott Styris scored 75 runs.

Pakistan- 338/4

Pakistan cricket team is in fourth place. Batting first in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, it scored 338/4 against the Indian cricket team. Fakhar Zaman played a brilliant innings and scored 114 runs in 106 balls. He hit 12 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate was 107.54.

In reply, the Indian team was able to score only 158 runs. It lost by 180 runs.
