Host Bihar Dominates Kabaddi Opener at Khelo India Youth Games

Today, the whole country is seen drenched in the colors of Bihar in the sports field. Why not! With the hosting of Khelo India Youth Games, Bihar has got the opportunity to wave the flag of its sports skills in the sports field. In the boys category of Kabaddi held at Rajgir Sports Complex on Monday, Bihar crushed Goa in a one-sided match by 14 points against 88. While in the girls category, Uttar Pradesh defeated Tamil Nadu 28-26 in a close match.

Similarly, the boys team of Haryana has made a strong start to its campaign to save the gold by defeating Karnataka 57-30. However, the girls team of defending champion Haryana had to work hard to win against Punjab 33-32. Punjab kept the match exciting till the last moment. On the other hand, Chhattisgarh had to face defeat in both the boys and girls category matches of Kabaddi. In the girls category, Rajasthan defeated Chhattisgarh by 43-33 points. Rajasthan's girls team had taken a 22-18 lead over Chhattisgarh in the first half of the match. In the second half of this match, Rajasthan girls succeeded in all-outing Chhattisgarh twice. Similarly, in the boys' category, Andhra Pradesh also defeated Chhattisgarh in a tough match by 43-37 points. While in the first half of the match, Chhattisgarh's team had a lead of 15-18 over Andhra Pradesh. But the players of Andhra Pradesh made a great comeback in the second half and all-outed Chhattisgarh twice and won the match with 43-37 points.

Meanwhile, in volleyball matches at Patna's Patliputra Sports Complex, Jammu-Kashmir defeated Uttarakhand 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 16-25, 27-25, 15-9) in Boys Group-A. In Girls Group-B, Gujarat defeated Kerala 3-0 (25-12, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19). In other girls matches, West Bengal defeated Bihar 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-9) and Tamil Nadu defeated Jharkhand 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-7).

Let us tell you that this is the first occasion in the history of sports in the country when a prestigious sports Maha Kumbh like Khelo India Youth Games is being organized in a total of five cities of the state including Bihar's capital Patna. Apart from Patna, many sports are also being organized in Khelo India Youth Games in Gaya, Rajgir, Bhagalpur and Begusarai. Khelo India Youth Games are part of the Khelo India program, which started on October 14, 2017. Its objective is to promote public participation and excellence in sports. Under this program, many athletes have represented India at the international level, including the Olympics and Asian Games. Bihar is hosting these games for the first time, which are being held in five cities of the state and Delhi from May 4 to 15. This time a total of 27 sports will be competed and for the first time e-sports has been included as a demo event.
