India to face Oman in final Asia Cup group clash with Super Four spot secured

India will take on Oman in their final Group A fixture of the Asia Cup T20 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday, with a place in the Super Four already secured.

The defending champions have been dominant in the group stage, opening with a high-scoring win against the UAE before beating Pakistan by seven wickets. A third consecutive victory would give them a perfect start ahead of the tournament’s knockout phase.

Young opener Abhishek Sharma has impressed with aggressive starts in the powerplay, while Shubman Gill has provided stability at the top. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have contributed crucial middle-order runs, with Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel adding depth to the batting lineup.

On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav’s spin, Varun Chakaravarthy’s variations and Jasprit Bumrah’s pace have been key weapons, giving India a well-rounded attack.

Oman, who are already eliminated after two defeats, will look to salvage pride. Skipper Jatinder Singh, along with Aamir Kaleem and Shah Faisal, will need to deliver standout performances to trouble India.

The pitch at Sheikh Zayed Stadium is expected to provide balance between bat and ball, with batting conditions improving under lights and spinners likely to find grip as the game progresses. With clear skies forecast, weather is unlikely to disrupt play.

If India bat first, they are expected to aim for a target in the 190–200 range, while Oman would consider a score around 150 competitive. India may prefer to chase, while Oman could opt to bat first to put runs on the board.
