India vs Pakistan in Champions Trophy: Know the history of exciting matches between these rivals

The biggest rivals in the game of cricket, India and Pakistan, are going to face each other once again. The Champions Trophy 2025 will see a match between the two on 23 February (Sunday). On the one hand, while Pakistan has lost its first match against the New Zealand cricket team, India has won against Bangladesh in its first match.

2004

India and Pakistan met for the first time in the Champions Trophy in 2004. In this match played in Birmingham, England, the Indian cricket team came out to bat first.

Due to the deadly bowling of Naved-ul-Hasan and Shoaib Akhtar, the entire Indian team was in the pavilion after scoring just 200 runs. Both took 4-4 wickets. In response, Pakistan achieved the target by losing 7 wickets. Mohammad Yusuf played an innings of 81* runs.

2009

The second Champions Trophy encounter between the two sides took place in 2009, and once again Pakistan won that match. Batting first in the match, Pakistan scored 302/9. Shoaib Malik scored 128 runs.

In reply, the Indian team was all out for just 248 runs in 44.5 overs. Except Rahul Dravid (76) and Gautam Gambhir (57), no other batsman was able to play a big innings.

2013

India won for the first time against Pakistan in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Due to rain, this match was of 40 overs. Batting first, Pakistan was all out for just 165 runs in 39.4 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave only 19 runs in 8 overs and took 2 wickets.

In reply, the Indian team achieved this target by losing 2 wickets. Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest 48 runs.

2017

In the 2017 Champions Trophy, both teams clashed twice. India won the first match easily. Batting first, it scored 319/3. In reply, Pakistan could score only 164 runs.

After this, both teams were face-to-face in the final. Where Pakistan scored a mountainous score of 338/4. The Indian team was all out for just 158 runs. Fakhar Zaman played an innings of 114 runs.
