IPL 2025 Revised Schedule Live: Franchises Await BCCI’s Decision on Tournament Resumption, Announcement Soon

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is moving swiftly to restart the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 following the recently announced ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The tournament was abruptly suspended last week, just a day after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was halted midway due to air raid alerts in nearby regions like Jammu and Pathankot.
The BCCI is in the final stages of planning a revised schedule, aiming to resume matches by the end of this week, now with tensions easing.
While an official announcement is expected on Monday following key meetings with stakeholders, franchises have already been instructed to regroup at their home bases by Tuesday. Gujarat Titans, for example, have resumed training, with players spotted in a long net session at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
However, not all cities will see action in the resumed leg. Due to heightened security concerns, matches are unlikely to return to Dharamsala, Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, or Mumbai. Instead, the remaining fixtures will be played across five venues deemed more secure: Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Lucknow.
The league table remains tight. Gujarat Titans lead with 16 points and a strong net run rate (NRR) of 0.793. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also have 16 points but a lower NRR of 0.482. Punjab Kings are close behind with 15 points, while Mumbai Indians (14), Delhi Capitals (13), Kolkata Knight Riders (11), and Lucknow Super Giants (10) are all still in contention. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals have been knocked out of the playoff race.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said discussions are ongoing. “As of now, there is no final decision on the IPL. BCCI secretary and IPL chairman are in talks with franchises and stakeholders. We’re making all efforts to restart the tournament as early as possible,” he said.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the board will begin formal consultations with broadcasters, sponsors, state associations, and franchises in the coming days. He also noted that a green signal from the central government will be sought before finalising the revised schedule.
There are still 12 league matches and four playoff games left to be played this season.
