Rain Threatens Playoff Dreams: RCB's Crucial CSK Clash at Risk of Washout

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are just one win away from making their spot in the playoffs of IPL 2025, however rain threatens to disrupt the match. RCB is set to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday evening.

According to forecasts, there’s a strong chance of rain—over 50%—between 4 PM and 10 PM, right around the time of the match. With Bengaluru already witnessing heavy showers over the past few days, a washout is very much on the cards. If that happens, both teams will split points, meaning RCB will have to wait until their next game against Lucknow Super Giants to seal a playoff spot.

The rain has already impacted both teams’ preparations. CSK managed just a 45-minute training session on Friday before the skies opened up, while RCB also had to wrap up early due to the wet conditions.

This season, RCB have been in strong form and currently ranked third on the points table with 14 points from 10 matches. Today, a win would confirm back-to-back playoff appearances. CSK, on the other hand, are already out of the tournament after a disappointing run with just four points from 10 games.

Despite the contrasting seasons, the RCB vs CSK rivalry always draws attention—but whether the match will go ahead as planned remains uncertain.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM, with the toss at 7:00 PM. Fans can catch all the action live on the Star Sports Network or stream it on the JioStar app and website—weather permitting.
