Rajgir International Cricket Stadium Nears Completion with 40,000-Seat Capacity

The construction of a cricket stadium based on international standards in Rajgir is in its final stage. This stadium by the building construction department will provide an excellent opportunity to the players interested in cricket in the state to showcase their skills.

The construction of cricket pitch and outfield is being done on priority basis. Keeping in mind the quality and standard of the pitch, special red soil has been ordered from Maharashtra for this. Whereas, black soil brought from Mokama is being used in the construction of seven additional pitches. The work of laying grass in the field is almost complete. Apart from this, the civil work of General Stand East, General Stand West and Reverse Pavilion is also being completed rapidly.

The work of the basic structure of the main pavilion of the stadium has been completed. Now finishing works like brickwork, plaster, putty and wiring are being done rapidly. Along with this, the civil work of General Stand East, General Stand West and Reverse Pavilion is also in progress.

Secretary of Building Construction Department, Kumar Ravi, said that international standards are being followed in the International Cricket Stadium in Rajgir Sports Complex. Keeping in mind the rainy season, a drainage system is being developed to drain out the water from the ground.

This cricket stadium is being built on a plot of land of 72,843 square meters. It will have seating capacity for 40,000 spectators. Equipped with ultra-modern facilities, this stadium has a special pavilion for the players, separate arrangements for coach and manager, and a special stand for VVIP guests. Construction of this stadium will not only make it possible to organize national and international cricket matches, but local players will also get excellent training and sports facilities.
