Virat Kohli Congratulates RCB Women on Historic WPL 2026 Title Win

Former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli sent a special message to the WPL 2026 champions RCB on Thursday night, celebrating the franchise's historic achievement of becoming the first team to hold both the Indian Premier League and Women's Premier League titles simultaneously.
Kohli, who ended his 18-year IPL title drought with RCB's maiden championship last year, expressed pride as the women's team matched Mumbai Indians' record of two WPL titles.
Kohli's Heartfelt Message
"Keeping the RCB flag flying high and something that each one of you can be proud of," Kohli wrote on Instagram. "To Smriti and the whole squad and the management team, a big congratulations for this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans."
Record-Breaking Final
Smriti Mandhana's RCB completed the highest successful chase in WPL history, hunting down 204 runs against Delhi Capitals with two balls to spare at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara.
Captain Mandhana led from the front with a scintillating 87 off just 41 balls, smashing 12 fours and 3 sixes in a match-winning knock under immense pressure in the title clash.
Historic Double for RCB
The victory holds special significance for the RCB franchise, which waited years for major silverware. After Kohli finally lifted the IPL trophy in 2025, the women's team has now added the WPL crown, making RCB the only franchise currently holding both prestigious T20 league titles in Indian cricket.
RCB Women have now equaled Mumbai Indians' record of two WPL championships in the competition's short history.
