In Ayodhya, the construction of Lord Ram's temple is in full swing, with preparations for the deity's consecration ceremony set for January 2024. Alongside these grand preparations, heightened security measures are being put in place to safeguard the temple. The administration is now planning to deploy personnel from the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (SSF) instead of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for the temple's security.
The construction of the majestic temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram is progressing rapidly, and Lord Ram is expected to be enshrined in January. The security arrangements for the temple, previously handled by the CRPF, will now be entrusted to the UP SSF. A meeting of the Ram Janmabhoomi Security Committee was convened on Thursday, attended by District Magistrate Gaurav Dayal, ADG Security S. Pratap Kumar, ADG Zone Piyush Mordia, CRPF officials, and officers from intelligence agencies. The Security Committee meets every three months to discuss security matters.
Now, UP SSF to Oversee Security
Following the meeting, District Magistrate Gaurav Dayal revealed that the UP SSF would be responsible for the security of the Ram Janmabhoomi. Personnel from the CRPF will be replaced by UP SSF personnel. In addition to the SSF, the security at Ram Janmabhoomi will also include personnel from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and the Civil Police. The SSF personnel have already arrived in Ayodhya, and they are undergoing special training for a week.
Consecration Program from January 16th to 24th
It was further disclosed that a consecration program for the Ram temple would be organized from January 16th to 24th. The finishing work on the temple's basement is nearly complete, with approximately 50% of the construction on the first floor also finished. Other renovation work is progressing rapidly.
Striving for Impeccable Security
Following the meeting, ADG Security K.S. Pratap stated that a meeting of the Ram Janmabhoomi Permanent Security Committee had taken place. The meeting was organized to establish coordination among all security wings associated with the pilgrimage site. Extensive discussions were held on security arrangements, and there were deliberations on the new security system. Every effort is being made to ensure impeccable security for the Ram Janmabhoomi premises, including the integration of the SSF into the security setup. The local police will also work in tandem with the SSF for enhanced security.
