PM Modi Set to Inaugurate Annual GPAI Summit in New Delhi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the annual Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on December 12, 2023, around 5 PM. India, the lead chair of GPAI in 2024, will host the three-day summit from December 12 to 14, showcasing cutting-edge research and applied activities on AI-related priorities.

GPAI, a multi-stakeholder initiative with 29 member-countries, focuses on bridging the gap between AI theory and practice. The summit will feature various sessions covering diverse topics such as AI and global health, education, skilling, AI and data governance, and an ML Workshop. Additionally, attendees can look forward to the Research Symposium, AI Game Changers Award, and India AI Expo.

With over 50 GPAI experts and 150+ speakers from around the globe, the summit will attract top AI influencers, including representatives from Intel, Reliance Jio, Google, Meta, AWS, Yotta, Netweb, Paytm, Microsoft, Mastercard, NIC, STPI, Immerse, Jio Haptik, Bhashini, and more. Winners of the YUVA AI initiative, alongside innovative startups, will also showcase their AI models and solutions.

As a founding member of GPAI since 2020, India's role as the current incoming Support Chair and Lead Chair in 2024 underscores its commitment to advancing AI research and applications. The summit promises to be a nexus for thought leadership and collaboration in the global AI community.
