Vande Bharat Express Trains: Enhancing Travel Efficiency Across India

In the hustle and bustle of life, saving time is of paramount importance to people. Recognizing this, the Indian Railways has been working to save people's time amidst their busy schedules. The Vande Bharat trains are playing a crucial role in providing convenient and time-efficient travel experiences.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi hoisted the green flag on nine Vande Bharat trains, emphasizing that the railways serve as a great companion for the poor and the middle class. Today's travelers prioritize efficient travel and time-saving, with Vande Bharat playing a significant role. He further emphasized that the railways are the best ally for the poor and the middle class, especially for those who wish to travel from one city to their home in a single day.

The craze for Vande Bharat trains in India has been on the rise, with over 119 million passengers having already chosen this mode of transportation. In the future, every part of the country will be connected through Vande Bharat Express trains. The government is working to reduce transportation costs, which will boost exports. This is why the railway budget has been significantly increased.

Nine new Vande Bharat Express trains will enhance connectivity in 11 states, including Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat. These trains will run at top speeds on their routes, saving passengers 2 to 3 hours of travel time.

Currently, there are a total of 34 high-speed Vande Bharat trains operating in the country. The Prime Minister mentioned that in previous governments, the allocation of the Railway Minister was a topic of intense discussion, and the state from which the minister hailed received the most trains. However, many of these announcements didn't translate into trains on the tracks, resulting in significant losses for the country.

During the event, the Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of the cleanliness campaign scheduled for October 1st and urged people to actively participate. He encouraged the adoption of khadi and swadeshi products on Gandhi Jayanti. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of transforming railway stations, not just as transport hubs but also as accommodation centers.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed the railways' commitment to shift more passengers and cargo transportation to the railway network, reducing reliance on diesel and focusing on electrification. Over the past nine years, 37,000 kilometers of railway lines have been electrified, equivalent to Germany's entire network.

These developments mark a significant step towards making travel more efficient and sustainable across India.
