Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to Arrive Soon, Rail Minister Shares Sleeper Version Concept Images

New Delhi, -The sleeper version of the prestigious 'Vande Bharat' train is set to grace the Indian railways at the outset of 2024. The nation eagerly awaits its debut on the tracks, expected by March next year.

In a midnight announcement on October 3, 2023, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Rail Minister, took to his social media accounts to share seven magnificent images showcasing the concept of this upcoming train. The captions read, ''The sleeper version of Vande Bharat is on its way...coming soon in early 2024.''

The concept images reveal a blend of light blue and white in the coach's color scheme, while the seats sport a gentle gray shade adorned with cushions. Notably, yellow highlights accent the middle berth. A convenient five-step staircase has been added to access the upper berths within the coach.

The sleeper coaches will feature roof lighting, enhancing the ambiance for passengers. Currently, 'Vande Bharat' operates with chair car facilities. The plan is to introduce the Vande Bharat train on the route of Rajdhani Express, necessitating the provision of sleeper coaches for overnight journeys.

It is anticipated that during this financial year, 2023-24, the sleeper version of 'Vande Bharat' will be officially launched. The coaches are being prepared at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.

Significantly, the transformation witnessed across various sectors of the railways in the past 9 years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has borne fruit. India, once dependent on global telecommunications technology, is now exporting its technology to some of the world's most prosperous nations, establishing 'Made in India' as a beacon of success.
