10 Dead in Canada School Shooting, Including Suspect Found with Self-Inflicted Injury

Ten people are dead, including the suspect, after a mass shooting at a high school in British Columbia, Canada, on Tuesday. The attack at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in the Peace region is one of the deadliest school shootings in Canadian history.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed the suspect died from what appears to be a self-inflicted injury.

Additionally, two victims were airlifted to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries, while approximately 25 others were being checked and treated at the local medical centre.
Police Response
As part of the first response to the active shooting, police entered the school to locate the threat. During the search, they found several victims and the deceased suspect.
"An individual believed to be the shooter was also found deceased with what appears to be a self-inflicted injury," the RCMP statement said.
The public alert issued earlier was cancelled as authorities confirmed no remaining suspects or ongoing danger to the public.
Second Crime Scene
Police identified a second location believed to be linked to the incident, where two more victims were found dead at a residence. The connection between this location and the school shooting remains under investigation.
What We Know About the Suspect
An emergency text alert described the suspect as a "female in a dress with brown hair." However, police have not officially released detailed information.
RCMP Chief Superintendent Ken Floyd said investigators believe they have identified the shooter but declined to share further details to respect privacy and protect the investigation.
Evacuation and Reunification
All remaining students and staff were safely evacuated. Police are working with the school district to coordinate family reunification.
