Donald Trump Says US-Iran War Could End in 2–3 Weeks, Signals Possible Deal

US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing conflict with Iran could come to an end within the next two to three weeks, indicating that the United States is nearing the conclusion of its military operations in the region.

Speaking to the press, Trump stated that the US military’s “Operation Epic Fury” is progressing rapidly and is expected to be wrapped up soon. He added that the United States aims to neutralise Iran’s capabilities before exiting the region, suggesting an aggressive approach in the final phase of the operation. At the same time, he hinted at the possibility of a diplomatic agreement before the conflict concludes.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington’s objective from the outset has been to eliminate Iran’s threat permanently, particularly to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In separate remarks during an interview, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the role of international allies, urging them to take on greater responsibility in securing critical global shipping routes, especially the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that countries heavily dependent on oil shipments through the region should contribute more actively to its protection.

Despite ongoing Iranian strikes targeting shipping lanes and regional infrastructure, Trump maintained that there is “no real threat” in the Strait of Hormuz. He also highlighted what he described as insufficient military support from allies such as the United Kingdom in the broader US-Israeli conflict involving Iran.

The US President further clarified that he is not yet prepared to withdraw American forces from operations aimed at securing the strategic waterway, underscoring its continued importance.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most vital oil transit routes globally, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply. The situation in the region continues to draw international attention amid rising geopolitical tensions.
