PM Modi Expresses Concern Over Biden’s Prostate Cancer Diagnosis, Wishes Him Speedy Recovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday voiced his concern over the cancer diagnosis of former U.S. President Joe Biden, joining a growing list of world leaders offering support and well wishes. The messages followed a statement from Biden’s office confirming that the 82-year-old is battling an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer.
“Deeply concerned to hear about @JoeBiden's health. Extend our best wishes to him for a quick and full recovery. Our thoughts are with Dr. Jill Biden and the family,” Modi wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Biden’s office noted that while the cancer is aggressive, it appears to be hormone-sensitive, making it more manageable through treatment. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement said.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also extended his support, writing, “I am very sorry to hear President Biden has prostate cancer. All the very best to Joe, his wife Jill and their family, and wishing the President swift and successful treatment.”
In a rare moment of bipartisan compassion, U.S. President Donald Trump, Biden’s political rival, offered kind words through a post on Truth Social. “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Vice President Kamala Harris described Biden as “a fighter,” expressing confidence in his ability to overcome the diagnosis. “I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership,” she said.
Former President Barack Obama echoed those sentiments, praising Biden’s longstanding efforts in the fight against cancer. “Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace,” Obama said.
The wave of support reflects the global stature of the former president and the deep personal and political relationships he has cultivated over decades in public service.
