Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with its money laundering probe into the liquor scam case. The summons is set for November 2, and it is the first time that Kejriwal has been called by the agency.

The case revolves around allegations of impropriety in the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy, with suspicions that it was devised to favor certain liquor companies and individuals. The ED case originated from a CBI FIR filed on August 17 last year, which named Kejriwal's close aide, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, among others.

Kejriwal has previously been questioned by the CBI in this case as a "witness." The ED's chargesheets mention Kejriwal multiple times based on statements from other accused, who claim that they were introduced to him by his close aides regarding the preparation and execution of the excise policy.

The AAP has responded with confidence, asserting that Kejriwal will fully cooperate with the investigation. Other opposition parties have accused the BJP-led central government of employing the ED to target political rivals.

The liquor scam case has been a significant political controversy in Delhi, and the upcoming questioning of Arvind Kejriwal is expected to further intensify the political landscape in the capital city.
