Delhi Police issues security guidelines three days ahead of January 26 celebrations; sharp objects, electronics, food items banned
With three days remaining before India's Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, security agencies and Delhi Police have released a comprehensive list of items prohibited inside the parade venue to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees.
Sharp Objects Strictly Banned
Visitors are advised not to carry any sharp or puncturing objects to the venue. The prohibited list includes daggers, knives, scissors, blades, razors, and similar items. Matchboxes and lighters of any type are also not permitted.
Such items will be seized at entry gates, and individuals carrying them will be denied entry to the parade grounds.
No Tobacco, Alcohol, or Food Items
Delhi Police has instructed officers to enforce strict restrictions on consumables. The following items are not allowed inside the venue:
Cigarettes, bidis, and gutkha packets are prohibited. Bottles of alcohol or liquor will not be permitted under any circumstances. Packets of eatables and water bottles are also banned from the premises.
Attendees are advised to leave these items behind as they will not be accepted at the parade venue.
Electronics and Cameras Restricted
Professional cameras and drones are strictly prohibited within the parade premises. Tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices will also not be permitted inside.
