Delhi government's "Business Blasters" programme launched as part of the government's ‘entrepreneurship mindset curriculum', has started giving dividends in the form of school-going girls finding opportunities of self-employment. The ambitious programme is helping young girls find their feet and give vent to their entrepreneurial spirit. The same was evident when Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School in Delhi's Pushp Vihar locality. Sisodia talked to the students of 11th standard in the school when he came face to face with a student who couldn't stop her tears from flowing as she thanked the government for offering her a chance at self-employment. While talking to the students at the school, Sisodia shared with them tips to become self-reliant in life while asking students about their business ideas too. The said student, Ria, began a small-scale business of face mask production during the Covid-19 pandemic and it was a success. Now she want to continue with this business and support her education as well as her family. Under the Business Blasters programme, students of 11th and 12th classes in all senior secondary schools under Delhi govt. are given Rs. 2000 as seed money to develop their business ideas. Inviting public support for its unique initiative, Deputy CM also exhorted on Twitter, "Be a part of the change and help Delhi Govt students become self-reliant individuals, who will be future job providers rather than job seekers. A website has also been launched so that general public can purchase the products made by students as part of their entrepreneurial journey. If you want to support this initiative, you can register on this website to invest as well as mentor these enterprising students. Photo- Credit to Amar Ujala
