India’s First AI Filmmaking Course Launched in Kerala by Startup Pixel Pupa
Backed by Kerala Startup Mission, the three-month hybrid program under the ‘School of Storytelling’ aims to merge cinematic creativity with cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools.
India’s first-ever AI filmmaking course has been launched by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM)-backed startup Pixel Pupa, marking a major milestone in the integration of technology and cinema.
The three-month hybrid program, designed to blend creativity with cutting-edge AI tools, will be conducted by the newly established School of Storytelling under Pixel Pupa.
Renowned actor and Member of Parliament Kamal Haasan inaugurated the School of Storytelling and unveiled its official portal at a ceremony held in Kochi.
Extending his wishes, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan hailed the initiative as a reflection of Kerala’s progress in both social and technological spheres.
The Kochi-based film school will offer AI-integrated filmmaking courses guided by Varun Ramesh, a leading AI industry trainer and Gen AI storyteller.
The curriculum is supported by a team of accomplished filmmakers, technicians, and AI experts from across South India.
In addition to online sessions and live workshops, the School of Storytelling will host AI creative labs and interactive sessions led by prominent content creators and technicians from the Malayalam film industry. Beyond filmmaking, the institute also provides specialized programs in AI Photography, AI Cinematography, AI VFX, and AI Animation, offering students a holistic introduction to the future of digital storytelling.
