Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty recently paid a spiritual visit to the ancient Mundeshwari Temple in Bihar, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming success of his latest film, Kantara: Chapter 1. The visit was more than a ritual—it was a deeply personal moment of thanksgiving, reflecting Shetty’s spiritual connection to the themes explored in his work.

Perched atop the Kaimur Hills at an elevation of 600 feet, the Mundeshwari Temple is believed to be one of the oldest functional temples in India, dating back to at least the 4th century. Dedicated to Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva, the temple is a revered site for devotees seeking peace and divine blessings.

Kantara: Chapter 1, a mythological prequel to Shetty’s 2022 blockbuster Kantara, has received critical and commercial acclaim since its release on October 2. Produced in collaboration with Hombale Films, the movie has been praised for its compelling storytelling, richly woven mythology, and authentic portrayal of cultural and spiritual traditions. The film has been released in multiple languages—Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, and English—making it one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious global ventures to date.

With Kantara: Chapter 1 continuing to break records at the box office, Shetty’s visit to the sacred shrine stands as a testament to the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual influences that shape his cinematic vision.
