Smriti Irani Returns as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Reboot — First Look Released
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi originally aired from 2000 to 2008 and remained the number one show on television for seven consecutive years.;

Smriti Irani, who played the lead role in the original Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, recently opened up about the show during a conversation with Barkha Dutt and Karan Johar on an episode of We The Women.
She revealed a little-known fact about the show’s journey, saying, “I actually had a contract to reprise my role in 2014, but I walked away because I had to serve in the Indian Parliament as a cabinet minister. The set was all ready, but then I got a call from the Prime Minister’s office telling me I had to take the oath.”
Smriti also recalled advice from the late Rishi Kapoor at the time, who told her, “Leave now, because serving your country is a greater service than just doing a movie or television.”
Meanwhile, Amar Upadhyay, who is returning as Mihir Virani, confirmed that the premiere of the reboot has been delayed. According to a source quoted by Hindustan Times, the delay is due to changes being made to the set.
Upadhyay explained, “Yes, it’s true. The set had to be reworked because the color combination on screen wasn’t coming out as intended. Ektaa is a perfectionist and knows exactly what she wants. This is Kyunki — not just another show, but a legacy. She wants everything to be perfect and the best for the show.”
