On the fifth anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing, his sister Shweta Singh Kirti shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, reflecting on his life, legacy, and the journey since his death. In a heartfelt video and a moving message, she encouraged his fans to stay hopeful and continue honoring what Sushant stood for.
Shweta revealed that she had just completed a 28-day meditation retreat and felt compelled to connect with his supporters on this day of remembrance. “Today is Bhai’s 5th death anniversary. A lot has happened since his death on June 14, 2020. The CBI has now submitted its report to the court, and we are in the process of retrieving it,” she wrote. “But what I want to say today is, no matter what happens, don’t lose heart and don’t lose faith in God or in goodness.”
She reflected on the values that defined her brother—his love for life and learning, his compassion, and his belief in equality. “Always remember what our Sushant stood for… purity, an unquenchable zeal for life and learning, a heart full of love which believed in treating everyone equally and doing charity,” she added.
Shweta also shared her belief that Sushant continues to live on in the hearts of those he inspired. “I truly believe Bhai hasn’t gone anywhere… he’s in all of us. Never use his name to spread negativity—he wouldn’t have liked that. He didn’t stand for it.”
Encouraging fans to carry his spirit forward, she wrote, “Look at how many hearts and minds he touched. Let his legacy continue. Be that candle that lights others to keep his memory alive. Great people’s legacies grow even more after they’re gone, because their presence influences generations.”
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. His death was ruled a suicide, with the postmortem report citing ‘asphyxia due to hanging.’ Over a month later, his family filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others, alleging abetment to suicide. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the probe in August 2020, with the Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau also launching investigations into alleged financial and drug-related links.
Earlier this year, in March, the CBI filed a closure report stating that no evidence of foul play had been found in the case.
