The 71st National Film Awards, held on September 23 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, was a memorable evening not just for the honours bestowed, but also for the warmth and camaraderie shared between the winners. Among the big names celebrating their wins were Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Vikrant Massey — all of whom took home their first National Awards.

Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey jointly won the Best Actor award, for Jawan and 12th Fail respectively, while Rani Mukerji bagged Best Actress for her powerful role in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

In a delightful behind-the-scenes moment that has now gone viral, Vikrant revealed how Shah Rukh inspired him and Rani to wear their medals right after receiving them. Speaking to ANI, Vikrant said, "Childlike is the word! It was so inspiring to see Rani ma'am and Shah Rukh sir still maintain that quality after so much success."

He went on to describe the heartwarming exchange. "When Shah Rukh came back, he said, ‘Main to yeh medal pehen raha hoon’ (I’m wearing the medal). And both of us said, ‘Haan, humein bhi pehnna hai, par pehn lein?’ (Yes, we want to wear it too. Should we?) Then he said, ‘Haan, kyun nahi?’ (Yes, why not?)"

Vikrant added that putting on the medals wasn’t as easy as it looked, and they ended up helping each other get them on—making the moment all the more special.

Another video from the ceremony captured Rani assisting Shah Rukh as he struggled to untangle his medal. She not only helped him wear it but also turned on her phone’s selfie camera to show him how it looked.

The candid exchange between the three actors has touched fans across the country, offering a rare glimpse into the humility and mutual respect shared by these celebrated stars—even at the peak of their careers.
