Herstory is an anthology of 39 poems written by Ms. Neha Bansal (IAS AGMUT-2010).
This book is a collection of 39 poems based on women in various times, from mythological to modern times. This book, her first, is but a very humble attempt to scale a very formidable fortress of the given narratives that hide within its underground crypts, the stories that have not been told. In this volume, she has tried to bring forth thirty-nine such mini narratives.
The book launch was organized today at India International Centre under the auspicious presence of Writers, Poets and dignitaries from State and central Government.
Hon'ble union Minister of Law and Justice Shri. Kiren Rijiju Ji sent his message where he wished the author luck and termed such books as reflection of the society.
The prominent speakers appreciated the book Ms. Paramita Satpathy, an IRS officer who herself is a prominent odia writer expressed that this book is filling the muchneeded void in English poetry where the characters such as Shrupnakha, Hidimbi were given voice and an expression to their emotions. Ms. Suman Keshari renowned poet and author termed Herstory to be the story of every women immaterial of time and context. Ms. Sukrita Paul Kumar Professor and acclaimed critic of the poem narrates a perspective which needs to be felt rather than felt.
Neha Bansal is an IAS officer and presently posted as commissioner, Food Safety with Delhi Government and is wife of IPS officer Deepak Yadav who is also serving Delhi Police as DCP Crime.
