ACAD 2025 Cryptic Crossword Contest Launches at DPS Patna
Year-Long Initiative Aims to Enhance Logical Thinking and Linguistic Skills; Students Nationwide Join the Challenge
The much-awaited ACAD 2025 contest officially launched at Delhi Public School Patna on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a year-long celebration of cryptic crosswords. This unique initiative has already captured the imagination of students across the country, with thousands registering to take part in this intellectually stimulating contest. The event, held with great enthusiasm, set the stage for a nationwide journey that promises to enhance cognitive abilities and linguistic skills through daily crossword challenges.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. RaveendraSankaran, IPS, Director General, Bihar State Sports Authority, and Sri Vivek Singh, IAS, Chief Mentor of Extra-C, with Ms. Divya Shakti, IAS, SDM Danapur, as the Guest of Honour. It saw active participation from students, faculty, and crossword enthusiasts, with Principal B. Vinod Rai and Ms. ChetnaJha, Head - Student & Teacher Life at DPS Patna, present to support the initiative.
In his keynote address, Mr. RaveendraSankaran urged students to set ambitious goals, delivering the inspiring message, “Aspire to be somebody and not anybody.” He encouraged the young audience to embrace individuality and strive for excellence in their pursuits.
Sri Vivek Singh, IAS, introduced the JMS Principle for Success, a framework for achieving personal and intellectual growth: Jigyasa (Curiosity), Mehnat (Hard Work and Sanskar (Life Values). He emphasized how these principles apply not just to crossword-solving but to every aspect of life, inspiring participants to approach challenges with determination and integrity.

A Clue A Day (ACAD) is a flagship initiative by Extra-C, offering a daily cryptic crossword challenge that promotes logical thinking and language skills. A cryptic crossword clue is posted every day at 3:30 PM on www.crypticsingh.com, with solutions accepted until 3 PM the following day. Top performers at the National, State, and City levels are recognized monthly with certificates and prizes.The launch of ACAD 2025 concluded with an air of excitement and anticipation, as students eagerly looked forward to participating in the contest.
