Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Strengthens Ties with Japan on Skill Development and Infrastructure Innovation
During high-level meetings in Tokyo, Khandu discusses boosting Japanese language training, workforce collaboration, and adopting modular construction technologies to accelerate development in Arunachal’s remote regions.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu held a series of significant meetings in Japan aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in skill development, infrastructure innovation, and people-to-people exchange between India and Japan.
In one of his engagements, Khandu met Toshiaki Nishikawa, Chairman & CEO of ASEAN Group Co. Ltd. and associated companies. Nishikawa expressed his commitment to enhancing the Indian workforce presence in Japan and highlighted ongoing collaborations with several Indian states to promote Japanese language learning and skill development initiatives.
Taking to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Khandu described the discussion as encouraging and aligned with efforts to deepen the India-Japan partnership.
Khandu also attended a luncheon meeting with Itsunori Onodera, Chair of the Policy Research Council & the Tax System Research Council; Yoshiaki Wada, former Member of the House of Representatives; and Rui Matsukawa, Member of the House of Councillors. He expressed gratitude for their warm hospitality and insightful discussions focused on further deepening India-Japan relations, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision shared during his recent visit to Japan.
Additionally, the Chief Minister had an interactive session with Sankyo Frontier Co. Ltd., a Japanese company known for its modular and factory-built construction solutions.
Khandu noted that such innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient technologies offer rapid deployment in challenging terrains and could play a transformative role in developing infrastructure across the Himalayan and remote regions of Arunachal Pradesh.
The series of meetings reflect Arunachal Pradesh’s growing engagement with Japan in promoting sustainable development, skill enhancement, and technology-driven solutions for the future, officials said.
