‘Avinya Bihar 2.0’ Celebrates National Startup Day, Showcases State’s Growing Innovation Ecosystem

On National Startup Day 2026, Startup Bihar under the Department of Industries organised Avinya Bihar 2.0 at Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Patna, with Industries Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal announcing plans to raise seed funding support for startups.

On the occasion of National Startup Day 2026, Startup Bihar, under the Department of Industries, organized "Avinya Bihar 2.0" today, January 16, 2026, at Chandragupta Institute of Management, Patna (CIMP), Mithapur Institutional Area, Patna, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT Patna).

The stage was graced by the presence of distinguished guests. Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Honorable Minister of Industries, was present on the occasion, along with Dr. Vidya Nand Singh, Director (Handloom and Silk), Department of Industries, Government of Bihar. Mrs. Anubha Prasad, General Manager, SIDBI, and Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Kumar, Professor-in-Charge and Secretary, Incubation Centre, IIT Patna, were also present. Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director, CIMP, Mr. Kumud Kumar, CAO-CIMP, CEO-CIMP-BIIF and President, TiE-Patna, and Mr. Sushil Sharma, Founder, Marwari Catalyst were also present.


 



The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Minister and the dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Kumud Kumar, CEO, CIMP-BIIF and President, TiE-Patna.

This event highlighted Bihar's growing role in India's startup revolution and highlighted the government's vision to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.

The chief guest for the event was Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Minister of Industries.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that Bihar is entering a new era of innovation and entrepreneurship. The Bihar government is committed to providing all possible support, including infrastructure, mentorship, and financial assistance, to enable our entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into impactful ventures. Together, we will make Bihar a leading force in India's startup revolution." He also informed that efforts are underway to increase the seed funding amount from ₹10 lakh to ₹25 lakh.

Key highlights of Avinya Bihar 2.0 included the launch of the Startupandi.com website, the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Startup Bihar and TiE Patna, and between Startup Bihar and SU&I Magazine.

The top five incubation centers and startup cells were honored during the event. Government Engineering College, Vaishali, secured first place, while Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, secured second place, Government Engineering College, Aurangabad, secured third place, RPCAU, Pusa, Samastipur, secured fourth place, and Gaya College of Engineering, Gaya, and Government Engineering College, Arwal, jointly secured fifth place. In the Best Incubation Center rankings, IIT Patna secured first place, CIMP Patna secured second place, BAU, Sabour, Bhagalpur, secured third place, RPCAU, Pusa, Samastipur, secured fourth place, and CNLU, Patna, secured fifth place.

At the event, Several innovative startup products, including Awshar AI, Finace India, Jilo Health, Green Stark, Pravisht, RCX Light, and Biharo, were also launched, showcasing the diverse entrepreneurial talent emerging from Bihar's startup ecosystem. Guest visits to the startup stalls further enlivened the event.

The event proved to be an effective platform to celebrate Bihar's entrepreneurial talent and innovation, as well as to foster strong collaboration between startups, investors, and policymakers.
