Bapu Tower Museum Hosts ‘Bapu Samvad-5’ on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Lecture on Gandhi and Science Held

Senior scientist Yaduvendra Pandey highlights Mahatma Gandhi’s scientific outlook; students receive Satyagraha Internship certificates and awards

On the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Indian Diaspora Day), 'Bapu Samvad-5' was organized at the Bapu Tower Museum in Gardanibagh, Patna, as part of the Bapu Samvad series. A lecture was held on the topic of 'Gandhi and Science'. Senior scientist and author Yaduvendra Pandey participated as the chief speaker and shared his views on the subject.

The Director of Bapu Tower, Mr. Vinay Kumar, felicitated the chief speaker with a bouquet, a shawl, and a memento.

Mr. Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, attended the program as the chief guest. He spoke in detail about the programs at Bapu Tower and said that Gandhi's relevance is increasing in today's times. The Secretary also addressed the students of Magadh Mahila College, A.N. College, and B.D. College.

In his lecture, Yaduvendra Pandey highlighted the connection between Gandhi and science. He said that Gandhi had a deep connection with science and even corresponded with scientists. People consider Gandhi to be anti-modernity and unscientific, which is wrong. Mahatma Gandhi was against complete dependence on science and technology. Gandhi's philosophy of science involved the participation of as many people as possible, and he emphasized the proper use of science.

The chief speaker said that Gandhi had also explained food and nutrition from a scientific perspective. He also shared his views on the exchange of ideas between Gandhi and scientists like Jagadish Chandra Bose, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, and Albert Einstein.

During the program, Secretary Mr. Kumar Ravi distributed certificates for the Satyagraha Internship to the students of Magadh Mahila College and A.N. College who had completed their internships at Bapu Tower. He also awarded the winning students of the Gandhi Knowledge Examination.

The new interns from B.D. College, Patna, were welcomed at the program held at Bapu Tower. 66 students from B.D. College will be doing their internship at Bapu Tower for the next 15 days. On this occasion, a large number of officials and employees of Bapu Tower, college students, researchers, and literature enthusiasts were present.
