Bareilly Firing: Gang Members Behind Attack on Disha Patani’s Home Traced
Nakul Singh and Vijay Tomar arrested; two other shooters killed earlier in Ghaziabad encounter
Two more shooters involved in the recent firing incident outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani's home in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested by Delhi Police.
The accused, Nakul Singh and Vijay Tomar, both residents of Baghpat, were apprehended recently. Each carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head.
According to ADG (law & order) Amitabh Yash, the firing took place on two consecutive days — September 11 and 12. The police shared the details today.
On the morning of September 11, around 4:30 am, Nakul and Vijay opened fire outside Disha Patani’s residence. CCTV footage had earlier surfaced showing two men fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
The next day, September 12, two other shooters, Arun and Ravindra, both from Haryana, also fired shots at the actress’s house.
They were later killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad on the evening of September 17 by a joint team of the UP STF, Delhi Police, and Haryana Police.
All four shooters were reportedly members of the Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar gang. Following the deaths of Arun and Ravindra, gang leader Rohit Godara allegedly threatened the UP Police, vowing revenge and stating, “No matter how powerful someone is, they won’t be spared.”
The investigation revealed that the four suspects arrived in Bareilly on September 10 using two motorcycles. Nakul and Vijay were seen on a Splendor bike and captured on CCTV at Jhumka Crossing at 6:48 am.
Later, they, along with Arun, checked into Hind Guest House on Junction Road, about half a kilometer from Disha Patani’s house.
The fourth shooter, Ravindra, checked into Preet Palace Hotel using a fake ID under the name "Sagar."
Disha Patani was in Mumbai at the time of the incident. Her father, Jagdish Patani, filed an FIR and recounted that the family was asleep when they were awakened by their dog’s bark.
Upon checking, he saw two men on a bike outside the house. When he called out to them, one of the assailants fired at him. He narrowly escaped by taking cover behind a pillar.
In the Ghaziabad encounter, which occurred in the Tronica City area, police were conducting routine checks when two men on a bike tried to flee.
During the chase, the suspects opened fire, injuring four police officers and hitting a police jeep with four bullets.
The police returned fire, and after an intense 15-minute gunfight involving 25-30 rounds, both Arun and Ravindra were critically injured. They were taken to a hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
From the encounter site, police recovered Glock and Zigana pistols, multiple cartridges, and a white Apache motorcycle believed to have been used in the Bareilly attack.
Following the encounter, a Facebook post allegedly made by Rohit Godara described the deceased shooters as “martyrs,” claiming they had sacrificed their lives for "Dharma."
He further alleged that the encounter was not justice but a betrayal of the Sanatan faith. In a provocative message, he claimed that a business was being run in the name of religion and warned of severe retaliation.
UP Police are now coordinating with their Delhi coungerpart to bring Nakul and Vijay to Bareilly for further investigation.
