Bhagwant Mann and Nayab Singh Saini Pay Tribute to Sahibzadas at Fatehgarh Sahib
Punjab and Haryana Chief Ministers bow in reverence during Shaheedi Jor Mela, hailing the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas, Mata Gujri Ji and Baba Moti Ram Mehra Ji as unparalleled in world history.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday paid tribute to the younger Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mata Gujri Ji and Baba Moti Ram Mehra Ji, describing their martyrdom as unmatched in world history.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also bowed in reverence at Fatehgarh Sahib, calling the sacrifice a lasting inspiration for humanity.
In a message shared on social media, CM Bhagwant Mann said he felt honoured to bow at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib during the annual Shaheedi Jor Mela along with his family.
He said the sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Mata Gujri Ji is a rare example in global history, and their steadfast resolve will continue to guide generations.
On the first day of the Shaheedi Sabha, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Moti Ram Mehra, where he paid homage to the martyrs.
Speaking to the media after paying obeisance, he said Sikh history is glorious, and the sacrifices made at Fatehgarh Sahib have no parallel anywhere in the world.
CM Saini said the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji serves as a powerful source of inspiration for humanity. He added that the sacred land of Fatehgarh Sahib conveys timeless messages of truth, courage and sacrifice.
He said he considered himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to bow on the holy soil.
During the event, BJP Punjab working president Ashwani Sharma said the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas and Mata Ji uprooted injustice and tyranny, ensuring the victory of righteousness.
He said such sacrifices have instilled faith and courage among people.
On the occasion, Trust Chairman Nirmal Singh SS honoured the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. Several prominent personalities were present at the event.
