Bhutan PM Dasho Tshering Tobgay Offers Prayers at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Accompanied by his wife, Tobgay becomes second foreign head of government after PM Modi to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi complex; expresses admiration for temple’s architecture.

Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay, along with his wife, offered prayers to Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex here. He is the second head of government after Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the temple.

The Bhutanese Prime Minister arrived at Ayodhya Airport from Gaya, Bihar, aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft as per his scheduled itinerary at 9:30 am today.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi welcomed the foreign delegation. Senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, along with state government, administration, and police representatives, were also present.

At 10am, the Prime Minister reached the Ram Mandir. During his one hour and forty-minute visit to the sacred site, he offered prayers to Ram Lalla and visited Ram Darbar. He and his wife also visited the temples of Kuber Tila, Jatayu, and Sapta Mandapam.

The Prime Minister expressed admiration for the intricate carvings of the Ram Mandir and the bronze murals on the ramparts. He was seen capturing several photographs of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex on his mobile phone and appeared deeply moved during the visit.

Dasho Tobgay prostrated thrice before Ram Lalla, performed the aarti, and offered flowers. He also received charanamrit prasad as part of the rituals.

Following his temple visit, the Prime Minister proceeded to Hotel Ramayan, where he was greeted with a traditional cultural program reflecting Bhutanese customs. On behalf of the state government, the district administration hosted a lunch in his honour.

After the luncheon, Prime Minister Tobgay departed for New Delhi from Ayodhya Airport aboard the Indian Air Force aircraft.
