Bihar Chief Secretary Reviews Progress of BIMCGL Industrial Township in Gaya

Pratyay Amrit directs faster execution of AKIC-linked project; focus on NH-22 upgrade, helipads, power grid and water infrastructure.

Chief Secretary Shri Pratyay Amrit, IAS, visited the Bihar Integrated Manufacturing Cluster Gayaji Limited (BIMCGL) project site in Gaya today to conduct a detailed on-ground inspection and review of Bihar’s flagship industrial township being developed under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC).

During the site visit, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of each project component and directed all concerned departments to expedite ongoing works, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and resolve pending issues at the earliest to ensure steady project momentum.

 

Key Focus Areas Highlighted During the Review

• Strengthening NH-22 for improved regional connectivity

• Development of dedicated helipads for direct aerial access

• Power infrastructure enhancement through the Chandauti Grid

• Installation of underground water pipelines and construction of reservoirs

Secretary, Industries Department cum MD BIADA & IDA, Shri Kundan Kumar,presented a comprehensive digital masterplan walkthrough, outlining the State’s long-term vision of developing BIMCGL as a state-of-the-art, integrated industrial city—designed to global standards with sustainable, modern urban planning.

The walkthrough showcased proposed industrial corridors, commercial and residential clusters, green buffer zones, and major infrastructure components planned within the integrated township.

As the visit concluded, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for coordinated action and timely execution to develop BIMCGL into a future-ready industrial hub for Bihar.

The inspection was attended by all concerned department senior officials, including Shri Santosh Kumar Mall, Secretary, Public Works Department, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Secretary, Energy Department/ CMD, BSPHCL, District Magistrate, Gaya ji , Shri Shashank Shubhankar
