Bihar Energy Department Orders Timely Completion of Power Projects Under Saat Nischay-3
Energy Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh reviews ongoing schemes, announces compensation for consumers over inadequate supply and stresses uninterrupted power across the state
An important review meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS), Secretary, Energy Department and Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited. The meeting comprehensively reviewed several power projects under construction under various state government schemes.
Clear instructions were issued to ensure timely completion of all projects under "Sabka Samman - Jeevan Aasan" (Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasan) under "Saat Nischay-3" (Part 6). Under "Majboot Aadhar, Modern Expansion" (Majboot Foundation, Modern Expansion) under "Saat Nischay-3" (Part 6), specific guidelines were issued for strengthening the infrastructure related to generation, transmission, and distribution, thereby further strengthening the power supply system in the state. Instructions were also given to complete all projects under the Pragati Yatra on time. He also placed special emphasis on ensuring uninterrupted power supply and providing new agricultural connections expeditiously.
Under "Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasan" (Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasan), several important decisions were taken to ease the lives of the state's citizens through modern technology, innovation, and sensitive administration. He stated that in the event of power supply being less than 21 hours, HT/Smart meter consumers will be provided proportionate compensation (in fixed charges) based on the supply. In case of power outages exceeding half an hour, citizens will be provided real-time information through the Suvidha app/SMS. Additionally, information about the Fuse Call Center has been included in consumers' electricity bills. He directed that the CGRF portal be integrated with an integrated omni-channel CRM to ensure prompt resolution of consumer issues.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Mahendra Kumar (IAS), Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited; Mr. Rahul Kumar (IAS), Managing Director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited; and other senior officials.
