Bihar Extends Ayushman Card Campaign Until May 30 Following Enthusiastic Public Response

State mobilizes ASHA workers, Panchayat officials and CSCs to ensure universal coverage of free Rs 5 lakh healthcare benefits for NFSA families and senior citizens;

With the aim of providing quality and free health services to the eligible beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana in the state, the special campaign for making Ayushman Card and Vaya Vandana Card, which started from 26 May 2025, has been extended till 30 May 2025 in view of the enthusiastic participation of the beneficiaries. Its objective is to cover more and more beneficiaries with Ayushman Card and Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card.

Under this campaign, Ayushman Card of ration card holder families under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card of senior citizens of 70 years or above are being made through the following means:

• By Asha worker and Jeevika Didi.

• By Panchayati Raj Executive Assistant in all Panchayat Bhawans.

• In the ward office of all local bodies.

• By Vikas Mitra in all Mahadalit Tolas.

• At Digital Counter/Ayushman Counter of all Government Hospitals.

• By VLE at nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

• By operator at all Block Offices.

• Through Ayushman App or Beneficiary.nha.gov.in.

The main objective of this campaign is to cover every member of the beneficiary family with Ayushman card. Card of just one member is not sufficient; card of every individual is mandatory to ensure free treatment to all.

Under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana —

Ration card holder families and senior citizens of 70 years or above can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year
